ABOUT

I am a self-taught artist born and raised in the mountains of West Virginia, the only boy in a family of seven children. I currently live just north of Nashville in Gallatin, TN.
I discovered at a young age that I had a talent for drawing. We could not afford art supplies, so I would draw on pretty much anything I could find. For example, while most kids wanted to empty the cereal box for the prize inside, I wanted the empty box itself because I could break it down and use the inside as a drawing surface. With no extra money to buy my family birthday and Christmas presents, I would draw them pictures for gifts instead. Although lack of resources at that time prevented me from being able to pursue any type of formal art education, I never lost my passion for drawing.
After I married, my wife thought I needed a hobby. I had always wanted to try oil painting. I found an enrichment course at our local community college that met one night per week for six weeks. I loved it! I continued to paint and develop on my own painting mainly animals, wildlife, and nature. Recently, I began focusing on pet portraits.
God has blessed me in so many ways, one of which is the ability to tell a story with a paint brush. Please take a moment to look through my gallery. I hope it inspires or speaks to you in some way.
I would love the opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind, custom oil painting of your furry family member that will last for many generations to come.
